How to blend two images using ACDSee Photo Editor

I am going to show how to use the Vignette Feature to blend two images into one. Both are similar photos, but a photo & background image could also be used.

I'm going to start with two photos and add what's in the orange box on the right to the one on the left. They can be much different, but there will need to be an area where they merge.

  1. Create a new workspace (I use 12 x 12 inches because that's what I generally work in).
  2. Bring in the two photos that you want to blend together.
  3. Crop images if necessary. I'm only cropping the photo on the right.
  4. To prepare each image for blending:
  5. Select Image
  6. Under Create, Select the Vignette Tool

  7. Change Vignette Type to Linear (pulldown menu on top right just to the right of Vignette: )

  8. Click on image and drag towards edge of photo that you want to blend
  9. Adjust amount of gradient by moving the sliding dot
  10. Click on Apply Vignette

  11. Repeat for the other photo:
  12. The gradient masks will look like this:

  13. Slide photos together.

  14. Select both in object panel. Right click & select Group.

  15. Crop workspace to desired photo size. Save as a jpeg to create a new photo.
