Did you move folders outside of ACDSee? How to fix it?
If you moved folders out of ACDSee Photo Manager
you may have created orphan folders. Basically ACDSee knows about the
folder here and you moved the folder there. Kind of pulled the rug out
from underneath ACDSee Photo Manager. To fix, you need to rebind the
folder in that ACDSee remembers to folder where you moved it too.
If you have
moved your entire folder & subfolders to another location without
rearranging any of the subfolders this works really well.
If
you have moved many of your folders around this is slow process --
sometimes it might be easier to move them back (outside of ACDSee) to
their original location and then open ACDSee Photo Manager and move
them again where you want them.
Also as a
precaution, before you do this, it's a good idea to backup your
database in case you pick the wrong folders.
Go to Database | Database Maintenance.
Now it's going to process for a while while it is collecting
stuff about your database. It says on the bottom... Please wait while
ACDSee is collecting and summarizing Database information...You need to wait until this disappears before you can go on and this could take minutes.
In the Database Content: click on the + signs to expand out your folders
You should find folders with a blue question mark on them. They are the orphan folders.
Those are the ones that you moved out from underneath ACDSee when
it wasn't looking.
Click on the highest folder that has a blue question mark on it, and click Change Binding...
This will show you info about where it used to be...
Click Change Binding again
Select the folders where your kits are now.
It is very important to select the correct folder. If you do not, you may lose your organizing.
Click OK
It should return with a successful message saying the database folder has been rebound to the specified folder.
Now the database information is going to go collect again.... Click Close if you are done there is no need to wait for it collect again.
Or repeat that process for the other orphan folders
Do you know of a Photo Book or Printing company that you would like to add to the list? Or are you a representative of one of these companies and would like to manage the information and photos on these pages.
